CMS Cameron McKenna
CMS is the leading organisation of European law firms which includes CMS Cameron McKenna, a firm famed for being a client-focused law firm with excellent training and overseas opportunities.
Trainee solicitors are being recruited for their London, Bristol and Scottish offices. Training contracts will have four six-month seats, gaining experience in various practice areas: Banking and International Finance; Commercial; Corporate; Energy, Projects and Construction; Insurance and Reinsurance; and Real Estate. Working alongside this traditional Practice Group structure the firm also uses Sector Groups to build teams taking an industry, rather than a purely legal, perspective, allowing for deep sector expertise and tailored advice.
There will be plenty of opportunity to try new things in each seat including client secondments, regional office secondments or time in one of their renowned European offices such as Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia and Ukraine. Having been voted ‘Law Firm of the Year for Central and eastern Europe 2009’ (PLC Which Lawyer?) the latter is particularly encouraged to ensure trainees develop their skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities.
For undergraduates the firm offers the opportunity to spend two weeks at CMS Cameron McKenna in London, Bristol and Scotland to gain an insight into the ‘life of a trainee solicitor’. These schemes run over spring and summer (deadline 31st January), and are open to anyone interested in pursuing a legal career. Alternatively applications for Training Contracts are open until 31st July.
